Diplomatic envoys from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to China surveyed the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and investigated China's agricultural science and technology on March 27. Tang Renjian, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the event and delivered a speech.

Tang pointed out that the reason China's agriculture continues to develop steadily is due to the important role played by scientific and technological progress. While developing, China has never forgotten to strengthen international cooperation in agricultural science and technology, especially in carrying out extensive technical assistance to developing countries.

As a community of a shared future with equality, mutual benefit and common development, China and LAC countries have achieved fruitful results in agricultural cooperation, and LAC has become China's largest source of agricultural product imports. At present, China has entered a new stage and new journey of accelerating agricultural modernization and building a strong agricultural country. China is willing to further build consensus with the LAC region, strengthen policy exchanges, deepen scientific and technological cooperation, and expand trade and investment. LAC countries are welcome to participate in China's agricultural and rural development and share in the opportunities and achievements.

The envoys spoke highly of China's achievements in agricultural scientific and technological development, and agreed with Tang's suggestions on deepening China-LAC agricultural cooperation. They also expressed their willingness to work with China to promote China-LAC agricultural cooperation to a new level.
