Laboratory of Microbiological Products Quality Safety Risk Assessment of MARA(Beijing)

The Laboratory of Microbiological Products Quality Safety Risk Assessment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China (formerly known as the Ministry of Agriculture of China) (Beijing) was established in 2013. It was among the second group of agricultural product quality safety risk assessment laboratories approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, and also the only approved professional laboratory of agricultural microbiological product quality safety risk assessment in China.

The laboratory undertakes quality safety risk assessment, investigation, risk monitoring and communication of agricultural microbiological products, especially for microbial fertilizers and mushroom cultivation. It also conducts related scientific research and provides technical support for government supervision, risk pre-warning, risk disposal, production guidance, consumption guidance, standard formulation, as well as import and export of microbial products.

Its research topics are safety evaluation of microbial strains, the effects and active substances of microbial products, safety evaluation of carriers of different sources, environmental safety and ecological effect evaluation of microbial products, communication about their quality safety risk, and their standard formulation and revision.
