The Laboratory of Quality and Safety Risk Assessment for Agricultural Products from Fertilizer Sources of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China (formerly known as the Ministry of Agriculture of China) (Beijing) was established in 2017. It is affiliated to the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the National Fertilizer Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Beijing).

Focused on China's demand for agricultural product quality safety as well as the green development of agriculture, the laboratory follows global development trends and cutting-edge technologies in the field, and conducts basic and technical research in the fields of fertilizer sources, application processes, and product harvest. It also examines the relationship between the risk factors of fertilizer product quality and application processing as well as agricultural product quality safety, crop quality, and nutritional functions.

In addition, the laboratory is engaged in the establishment of risk assessment, early warning, and prevention and control systems for agricultural products from fertilizer sources to provide important technical support and decision-making consulting services for fertilizer product quality and application safety in China. It is also a provider of important technical support for law enforcement supervision, guidance in production and consumption, emergency response, scientific interpretation, and research and judgment of trade technical measures for agricultural product quality safety.
