Wu Wenbin

Wu Wenbin, born in Qianjiang city, Hubei province, in December 1976, is a member of the Communist Party of China, a research fellow, and a doctoral supervisor. Wu graduated from the University of Tokyo, Japan, with a doctorate in engineering in September 2009. Wu currently serves as the Director General of the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP) of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).

Wu has won the titles of the Young and Middle-Aged Leading Scientists, Engineers and Innovators of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Young Talent of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He holds concurrent posts, including deputy director and secretary-general of the Agricultural Information Branch of the China Association of Agricultural Science Societies, deputy director of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the GNSS&LBS Association of China, and deputy director of the Youth Working Committee of the China Society of Natural Resources, chief editor of China Agricultural Informatics, and editorial board member of Journal of Integrative Agriculture, Journal of Natural Resources and Chinese Journal of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning.

Wu has long been engaged in research on theories and technical methods in remote sensing of agricultural land resources and digital agriculture. He won two second prizes of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, six prizes of provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and the China Society of Natural Resources Youth Science and Technology Award. He has published three books and over 160 research papers in academic journals at home and abroad.
